The Shine for Dogs collar is not a training collar and a walk-assist collar. It should be used as an accessory collar for peace of mind.
Yes, you should always take care and put your dog on a dog lead/leash at all times when not in a safe off-leash area.
We prefer you only use the Shine for Dogs products when your dog is under supervision. The light up Shine for Dogs collar/harness/leash is not required during daylight hours. The Shine for Dogs collar/harness/leash should be removed and stored when the dog is not walking.

PLEASE NOTE - be a responsible dog owner and if your dog has a history of reacting to flashing lights or bright lights, please be aware! If you are unsure, you can select the 'continuous mode ON' option on the collar/harness/leash instead of the flashing mode. These collars, harnesses and leashes do have the option of a FLASHING mode and can be easily activated accidentally when playing or lightly touch by another dog/person. Always have your dog under supervision. At no time will we; Shine for Dogs, take responsibility of aggressive or 'out of control' behaviour of your dog.

If anyone in your family or you have an epileptic condition or has experienced seizures of any kind, please consult your physician before using our collars, harnesses and leashes. Stop using the collars/harnesses and leashes immediately in the event a family member or you experience any of the following:
Seizures, dizziness, loss of awareness, altered vision, eye twitches, muscle twitches, disorientation, convulsions or any involuntary movement. Seek medical attention immediately.
If the battery starts to leak, please stop using the collar, harness and/or leash immediately. In the event leakage gets onto the skin/eyes – wash immediately (this is for both humans and animals) and seek immediate medical attention.
If the battery or operation button is damaged in any way, please do not attempt to use or recharge the product

Shine for Dogs uses NZ Post as the service for all orders from this website.
We aim to pack and dispatch every order within 24 hours of receipt, Monday to Friday. Orders received on weekend days: Saturday and Sunday will be despatched on Monday. We do not despatch orders on public holidays.

We want you to be totally happy so we can help as many dogs as we can. Don't like the colour - swop it, or send it back! Please contact us within 7 days or receiving your product.
In the unlikely event that the product is faulty or damaged please contact us within 7 days of receiving the item and we will happily replace the item if:
You will have to send the item back to us at your own cost so we can assess it to see what the issue is.

Ordered the wrong size? NO worries - you can easily change it!
Never place a collar or harness that is too loose or too tight on your pet. We will only change the item if it meets the returns policy (stated above ). Contact us within 7 days of receiving the item.
Collars and leashes that have been worn or damaged will not be eligible for exchanges. Postage of the new item will be done at your cost. Please note that it is suggested that you send your return package via receipted/trackable post as Shine For Dogs cannot be held responsible for any product that is lost or damaged in transit.
Never tamper with the lithium battery in any way. Never try to dispose of the collar and battery in a fire.
Please use the USB charging cable that comes with the product only, (do not use another charger for another product) and plug into one of these power sources:
The collar is weather resistant and splash proof, meaning they can withstand rain/snow They are not water proof. In the event that the collar does get submerged under water ensure you air-dry it only.
Never submerge the collar and/or leash in water;
Never place collar and/or leash in a washing machine;
Never place collar and/or leash in a tumble dryer;
Never place collar and/or leash in an oven;
Never place collar and/or leash in a microwave;
Never place collar and/or leash on or near a heater/radiator to dry;
Never leave the collar and/or leash in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
To clean the collar and/or leash, take a damp cloth and wipe the collar and/or leash clean. Avoid contact with the button/battery /charger area as water will damage the collar and/or leash.
Store in a cool dry area away from a radiator, direct sunlight and metal objects.
